Thoughts on Trenton Doyle Hancock's works

I can see that Trenton Doyle Hancock's works express clear themes and stories behind them, and the works of the other four artists are difficult for me to understand. I especially like stories, and his painting style and the text added to the paintings are also very similar to comic styles. In terms of themes, he explores identity and race in depth, and uses surrealist techniques to construct complex narrative structures that can trigger the viewer's thinking. In terms of techniques, he combines painting and collage, which is rich in layers and highly experimental, showing his keen control of details. In terms of materials, he uses acrylic and various mixed materials, as well as bottle caps with his personal style, and gives his works a strong visual effect through bright color and texture contrast. Secondly, I think his paintings are interrelated and can be connected into a story, such as these two: TTT vs. KKK, When I Think of Home and In the Lap of Victory.

Also, the details he adds to his work are interesting and I think he does it on purpose, like Step and Screw:Eureka!:

From the front, it looks like a black vortex. From the side, I can see that the artist made a concave treatment on the canvas to increase the sense of depth.
