BreakthroughTOEFL vocabulary and syntax difficulties in 3 months



This blog uses a 6-step learning methodology to build a solid foundation of English proficiency in three dimensions: 

  • expression of core vocabulary scenes; 
  • analysis and synonym construction of long and difficult sentences; 
  • accumulation of subject background knowledge.



1. Listening - Compare the current sentence, listen to the audio simultaneously, and read along 3-5 times. Effect: Remember the sound, shape and meaning.
2. Dictation-dictation and translation. Goal: Validate step one and strengthen spelling.
3. Sentence Analysis- using symbol notation method and sentence structure analysis. Clarify the functions of the main stem, modifying elements and parenthesis. Effect: Familiar with long and difficult sentence analysis and TOEFL classic expressions.
4. Mutual Translation- Read the Chinese sentences, translate them into English, compare them with the original sentences, and correct errors.
5. Rehearsal - retell the main idea of the passage by comparing it with the pictures in the picture book. Effect: Practice oral expression and become familiar with word meanings
6. Essay rhestorical analysis- Summarize the theme, rhestorical situation and conclusion of the article.
